Message from Sara:

Dear Friends,

thank you for all your well wishes and kindnesses over the past few months.  Life with a brain tumour has been a challenging experience, but have received lots of incredible medical help.  My personal performance of my songs has had to end (for now) as there are various symptoms still ongoing.  However, some works composed before this time are being performed in the next few weeks, which is nice.  Here are the details.

BASCA/BBC Singers concert for Radio 3 broadcast will be including a performance of my choral piece ‘The Body Windows’.

A Magical Musical Story Box (feat. Kate Mullins of The Puppini Sisters on vocals) will be performed at both

“Hi everyone. It’s been a funny old few weeks. As many of you might know I had to postpone the shows for Cambridge Jazz Festival, and I will also be postponing all music work for the foreseeable future. This is due to a recently diagnosed brain tumour which has been impacting on my health and ability to sing. Many thanks to everyone who has sent best wishes, and my apologies for the inconvenience caused to people so far. This is not doom and gloom news though. I’m feeling much better now after a few days in hospital and some very strong meds! Will keep you posted on what’s going on. I hope to return to music work when the time is right. With all love and best wishes to everyone, Saraxx”

“A beautiful album with a great sound…” Jamie Cullum, BBC Radio 2

Some end of 2015 comments on ‘Losing You’ from Jamie Cullum:

“I’ve been coming back to it a lot this year… I feel like its been a proper grower of an album, it didn’t immediately sound like everything else she’s done before, and neither should it… I’ve lived with it for a while now, and it’s really just a beautiful album with a great sound and a great sense of atmosphere throughout it.”  Jamie Cullum, BBC Radio 2, 15/12/15.

Jamie Cullum plays ‘Losing You’, the title track from the full album out now on Impossible Ark Records:

‘What a superb track that is… It’s a really interesting record, more of a Rhythm and Blues, country-blues influence, as well as the jazz in there on this whole album.  Beautifully produced, it’s a wonderful sounding record, it has some real eclectic moments on it… A really great step forward for Sara and I highly recommend you listen to the whole album.’ Jamie Cullum, BBC Radio 2, 30/06/15.
